Portsmouth RI offers to pick up your old Christmas tree, if you leave it outside on your scheduled pickup date.  Town of Portsmouth recycles the trees and makes the old trees into mulch which is free to residents of Portsmouth.  If you see the department of public works picking up your tree, say “Thank you”. Trees WILL NOT be accepted at the transfer station.  You can drop them off at the Department of Public Works located off Hedly Street.

All trees must be outside starting at 7AM on your scheduled pickup date.  The schedule is listed below from their main website. Ensure the tree is free from any ornaments.
